Seabrook Police Department Responds to Missing Person Report; Victim Found Deceased
Seabrook, TX – On September 4, 2024, at approximately 7:12 p.m., the Seabrook Police Department was contacted by the Memorial Village Police Department regarding a missing person report. The individual in question had reportedly not returned home after visiting the Lakewood Yacht Club, located within the City of Seabrook, Harris County, Texas. Officers from Memorial Village PD indicated that the missing person's phone was still pinging in the vicinity of their boat.
Upon arrival at the scene, Seabrook officers located the missing person's boat and discovered the individual's phone and other personal belongings on the dock beside the boat. A brief search of the area was conducted, but the individual was not found. Officers then entered the boat but did not locate the subject on board. Concerned that the individual may have fallen into the water, the Harris County Dive Team was called to assist at 8:20 p.m.
At approximately 10:46 p.m., the Harris County Dive Team recovered the body of a deceased male from the water near the boat. The male was believed to be the missing person. The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office was contacted and arrived on scene at 12:04 a.m. The deceased was positively identified as the missing person. The next of kin were notified, and the body was released to the Medical Examiner's Office at 1:39 a.m.
The Seabrook Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this difficult time. While no foul play is suspected, the investigation remains ongoing pending the Medical Examiner's report.
