[ARCHIVED] Seabrook Adopted Tax Rate

THE CITY OF SEABROOK ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEARS’S TAX RATE.

THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.83% AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $-23.64.

Comments: The actual 2014 tax rate that the City adopted is $.64003 per $100 of assessed value and is $.0112 LOWER than the 2013 tax rate of $651229. However, because the total property values within the City increased, this lower rate will raise more tax revenues than in the previous year. The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) portion of the tax rate was reduced even further from $.483154 in 2013 to $.459507 in 2014. Therefore, $100,000 of assessed value in 2014 will generate $459.51 in (O&M) tax revenue vs. $483.15 in 2013, a DECREASE of $23.64.
